At the Bushcamp Company, we are committed to the wildlife and people of the South Luangwa and work closely with the expanding local community and conservation organizations to develop projects that help protect our precious resources, support education, and generate a sustainable source of income to those who live around the Park.
In 1999, The Bushcamp Company started providing much-needed help to two local schools: Chiwawatala Primary School in Mfuwe Village, and Chilongozi Primary School in a remote area close to our bushcamps.

Since then, we have embarked on 27 years of community and conservation involvement and donated over 7 million US dollars to our projects.
Charity Begins at Home is the charitable arm of The Bushcamp Company, through which our donations are channeled.
Conservation
In a time of pressing environmental and social problems, we support several organisations working on the ground to protect the unique wildlife and ecosystem of the Luangwa Valley.Conservation activities include anti-poaching and anti-snaring activities, human-wildlife conflict mitigation and training, wildlife research and surveys, and tree planting initiatives.OUR PROJECTS
Community

Through meal programs, scholarships, and infrastructure improvements for local schools, and better access to medical support, clean water and health education, we take a holistic approach to creating improved opportunities for the community that serve their immediate needs but also considering how these give long-term support.
